What stays the same
The route under §10 StAG
For nationals of non-EU countries the regular route under § 10 StAG applies: five years of lawful residence, a Niederlassungserlaubnis (settlement permit), German at B1, secure means of support and the naturalisation test.

For EU nationals dual citizenship is provided for by law in any case, and naturalisation follows the regular route under § 10 StAG. Periods of residence as an EU citizen count in full.
