The law-firm range is the classification from „Three routes“ further down this page; in an individual case it is higher. A law firm is right where an appeal, discretion under § 8 StAG or previous convictions are involved. That is expressly not what we do.

The statutory authority fee under § 38 StAG — 255 € per adult, 51 € per child included in the application — is paid separately, directly to the naturalization authority, not through civitas.
Official German becomes a finished application.
Naturalisation is the same official form whether you fill it in alone or with civitas. The difference is how much research, translation and form-hunting is left with you.

All three routes end at the same official form. What differs is how complete it is when the authority first sees it. Every request for missing papers delays the decision by weeks.

What exactly do I get in the end?
A formally complete application, filled in across every mandatory field and ready for the authority, with the matching document checklist for your city, ready to submit. For families the special forms for children (§ 4, § 10 para. 2 StAG) are included automatically.
Is civitas worth it compared with a law firm?
For the vast majority of naturalisation applications: yes. You get the same authority-ready application, structured, in your language and at a fixed price from 149 € instead of representation by a law firm (usually 1.500 to 3.500 € there). A law firm is worth it above all in complex cases, such as an appeal after a rejection.
Can I switch to a different package later?
Yes. As long as you have not submitted your application, you can move up to a higher package at any time and only pay the difference. A downgrade is not possible after purchase, because the scope has already been unlocked.
Why is the Familie package cheaper than four individual purchases?
The Familie package contains the full scope of Plus, that is document validation, status tracking and priority support, and takes up to four people through one joint application. The price is far below four individual Plus packages (449 € instead of 4 times 299 € = 1.196 €), because the joint application only has to be guided once. It also includes the special forms for § 4 para. 3 StAG (children born in Germany, jus soli) and § 10 para. 2 StAG (children under 18 naturalised alongside a parent).
Will there be further costs for me?
With civitas you pay a fixed price, once, for your package. For the naturalization itself the authority charges the statutory authority fee under § 38 StAG on top (255 € per adult, 51 € per child included in the application without an income of their own). You pay that directly to the naturalization authority, independently of us.
How does the right of withdrawal work?
You have 14 days right of withdrawal from purchase, as long as you have not fully completed the wizard. It lapses as soon as you have sent off the application or downloaded the authority-ready PDF. The details are in our terms and the withdrawal instructions, and we point you to them before you complete the purchase.
Which payment methods are accepted?
Credit and debit card (Visa, Mastercard), Apple Pay and Google Pay. All payments run through Stripe (PCI-DSS Level 1 certified). civitas stores no payment data.
Am I entering into a lawyer-client relationship when I buy?
No — we are faster and less expensive than that. You get your fully completed application, the document list tailored to your case and the route to your authority, at a fixed price.
