Pausing the wizard and resuming later

Your answers are saved — how to resume your application at any time.

You do not have to complete your application in one session. The wizard saves your answers continuously, so that you can pause at any time and later continue exactly where you left off.

Your answers are saved

While you fill out the wizard, your progress is continuously secured as a draft. You can close the browser, switch devices, or simply take a break — your entries so far are not lost in the process.

How to resume your application

To continue, you request a continuation link to your email address:

  1. Open the Resume application page.
  2. Enter the email address you started with.
  3. You receive an email with a link — a so-called Magic-Link, as you already know it from signing in.
  4. Via this link you land back in your saved draft.

This keeps your application protected: only someone with access to your email mailbox can resume it.

If the link does not arrive, in most cases a look in the spam folder helps. You will find further tips under The sign-in link isn't arriving — what to do?.

Seeing your progress in your account

When you are signed in, your account area shows you which step your application is currently at. This way you can see at a glance how far along you are and can continue working from there. An overview of the account area is given in The dashboard at a glance.

In brief

  • Your entries are automatically saved as a draft.
  • Resuming works via a link to your email through the "Resume application" page.
  • Your account shows you the current step of your application.

So you can gather your documents at your leisure or consult with others, and then calmly bring the application to a close afterwards.
